BIO-SECURE FACILITY
The Bio-Secure Facility Advantage
Protecting the health and integrity of new genetic material is paramount. Our advanced private quarantine unit is dedicated to safeguarding your stock and the broader industry. Managed by skilled plant pathologists, the facility ensures the highest standards.
Quarantine (PEQ)
Imported material is held for 6–18 months and tested for non-endemic pests and diseases.
Nucleus Facility
Post-testing, clean material is established in a bio-secure nucleus tunnel for propagation.
Foundation
Final material is planted in our specialized foundation tunnel before being moved to a mother block, guaranteeing a secure source of clean stock.

Future-Proofing the Vineyard
Naturally Disease-Resistant Varieties
A Strategic Shift in Sustainability: Since 2017, Bosman Adama has led the South African industry in importing and evaluating naturally disease-resistant wine grape varieties. Sourced from elite breeding programmes in Italy, Germany and the USA, these varieties are selected for their ability to thrive with minimal chemical intervention.
From Quarantine to Vineyard: The journey of these varieties is one of rigorous scientific evaluation. As material is released from our bio-secure quarantine facility, we move it into local trials to evaluate performance specifically within South African growing conditions. This ensures that when a variety reaches your farm, its resilience and quality are proven.
The Largest Selection in South Africa: We currently host the largest portfolio of these next-generation varieties in the country.
By partnering with us, growers gain access to genetics that offer:
Drastic reduction in chemical sprays (up to 80% less).
Lower operational costs and a smaller carbon footprint.
High-quality wine profiles that meet the growing global demand for sustainable products.

As a proud partner of PIWI International, Bosman Adama plays a key role in bringing the next generation of disease-resistant grapevine varieties to South Africa, working closely with international breeders and local producers to evaluate and introduce these cultivars to the industry.
